Valve Tags & I.D. Plates

BRASS VALVE TAGS

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

Round brass valve tags have stamped and black painted letters, up to 3 characters per line.  They are typically sold in sets of 25, eg 1-25, 26-50 etc.  All tags come complete with a 1/8” dia. by 4” long brass plated steel bead chain.

MATERIAL
LETTERING
  • 0.025” thick yellow brass

  • Round: 1 ¼” diameter

  • Hole for chain installation. 

  • 3/8” high

  • Black filled

  • Can include identifier on the top line.
    For example “P” or “H”.

IDENTIFICATION SYSTEM SPECIFICATIONS:

The contractor shall identify all valves by means of an S.M.S. SP-1500 series; 11/2” square laminated plastic valve tag. Tags must be colour-coded in conformance with piping system colours as per CAN/CGSB-24.3-92. The system code must be 3/16” high (characters on the top line), valve numbers to be 3/8” high (on the bottom line). Brass valve tags that are 1 1/4” dia. by 0.025” thick with stamped 3/8” black paint filled characters are also available. Both tags come complete with 3/8” dia. by 4” long brass plated steel bead chains. Tags are to be consecutively numbered and coded as per the valve schedule. Special system designator codes are to be approved by the consultant prior to tagging. All tags are to be secured to valves by a brass bead chain. The contractor shall provide and mount for the owner a typed valve directory in a black document frame, listing the complete valve number, location and service. Individual fixture valves need not be identified.

PLASTIC VALVE TAGS

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

Square plastic valve tags are made of 2-ayer plastic of multiple colours.  Letters are engraved through the top layer to the contrasting colour core to provide durable and legible valve identification. Tags are available in two sizes: the SP-1250 (1 ¼” sq.); or the SP-1500 (1 ½” sq.). All tags come complete with a 1/8” dia. by 4” long brass plated steel bead chain.

  • 1/16” lamacoid plastic consisting of 2 contrasting colours

  • SP-1250 – 1 ¼” square.
      - 1 line of numeric identifier (3/8” High)
      - May include identifying “P” or “H” on request (3/16” High)

  • SP-1500 – 1 ½” square.
      - 2 lines with max. 6 characters per line (3/8” High) 

COLOUR
  • White with black lettering

  • Black with white lettering

  • Green with white lettering

  • Yellow with black lettering

  • Red with white lettering

  • Blue with white lettering
